Learn the Basics: Online Basics in Bicycling
Oof--2020 has been a year! When a health crisis emerges, cycling can still be safe, fun, and good for your mental health--which is probably why we’re seeing more of an uptick in people on bikes! (Yay for that!)
We’re excited to announce Cycling Savvy Basics, a new, free, bicycle education curriculum on Canvas focused on improving your bicycling skills! Whether you’re a new or seasoned rider, there’s a great chance you could find some valuable cycling tips.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Cycling Savvy Basics is on Canvas (and it’s free...did we mention that?) >> Take me to the course!
- This course is an introductory bicycle education class, broken up into 14 sections with short videos and short quizzes. Go at your own pace.
- Cycling Savvy Basics is produced by American Bicycling Education Association, whose mission with Cycling Savvy is, ‘To make a difference in people’s lives by empowering them to use their bikes to go anywhere they want, safely and confidently’.
Cycling Savvy Basics is made available for UC Davis affiliates courtesy of the UC Davis Bicycle Program, and seeks to provide the campus community with the knowledge and confidence to ride safely on their commutes while running errands, or while biking for recreation. It is our hope that by putting bicycling safety material into practice, you can make all of your cycling experiences more enjoyable.
PS: Cycling Savvy has a free short course available to all, if you’re interested check it out here: https://cyclingsavvy.org/courses/essentials-short-course/
